What is Smart Mind?

Smart Mind is a mind mapping app for Android and iOS. You use it to get ideas out of your head and into a shape you can look at: brainstorming, planning a project, study notes, meeting notes, an essay outline, or a plain brain-dump at the end of a day.

Three things that make it different

Your maps stay on your device

Maps are stored on your phone or tablet and are never uploaded. There are no ads, no account to make, no analytics and no tracking. The only parts of the app that use the network are the optional AI, purchases, and crash reports you can turn off in Settings.

The free version is a complete mind mapper

Not a trial, and not a demo with a topic limit. Unlimited topics on an unlimited canvas, images, notes, checkboxes, progress, auto-numbering, crosslinks, labels, the outline view, and search across your whole library.

Every way of getting maps into the app is free and always will be, including restoring a complete backup. Whatever happens to your subscription, your maps can always be opened.

AI that starts a map, then gets out of the way

Describe what you are thinking about in one sentence and you get a structured map back, which you then edit by hand. Generated topics are ordinary text — not locked, not watermarked, and undo works normally.

What Pro adds

Pro unlocks all eight layouts and all eighteen themes plus your own custom ones, export to PDF, HTML, Markdown and OPML, printing, slideshow presenting, unmarked image export up to 4×, backup export, device sync, and a much larger AI allowance. What it is not

Smart Mind is a single-person tool for thinking. Maps are not shared, two people cannot edit one map, and maps do not live on a server. If you want the same maps on your phone and your tablet, device sync copies and merges them directly between your own devices over Wi-Fi, with no account involved.
